Inspiration
Eyecare is an important part of healthcare, and early detection of vision issues is critical in determining the course of therapies and future work.
What it does
Visi is a simple vision test that uses the 'method of adjustments' technique in order to help detect color vision abnormalities. The simplicity and speed of this website makes it mobile friendly, and easily available in low-bandwidth locations.
How we built it
Visi is built very simply in HTML5 and JS. We attempted to make this a very small project, taking up as little memory as possible.
Challenges we ran into
We had a very limited time to complete this project, since our team members also had things to do this weekend. We believe that this very lean project allowed for us to stretch ourselves in the self-imposed time constraints we had.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to use true psychological and neurological techniques in the development of this project.
What we learned
Learning to create a small application that can load very quickly and run without web access was an interesting learning experience.
What's next for Visi - eyecare is healthcare
More tests, and determining what kinds of tests would be most useful for ophthalmologists.
