Vishnaya – Human First Cyber Safety
Inspiration
We were inspired by the growing number of cyber fraud cases affecting students, professionals, and senior citizens. Many victims lose money and personal data not because of weak technology, but because attackers exploit emotions such as fear, urgency, and trust. During our research, we realized that most existing tools focus only on technical security and ignore the human factor. This motivated us to build Vishnaya — a platform that protects users emotionally, psychologically, and digitally.
What it Does
Vishnaya is a human-first cyber safety platform that detects scam calls, phishing messages, and malicious emails using AI and behavioral analysis. It provides real-time alerts, popup notifications, vibration warnings, and optional blocking. The system also includes visual attack simulations that show users what could happen if they interact with harmful content.
It offers offline protection through on-device detection, an AI chatbot with voice and image support, identity misuse monitoring, an SOS emergency feature with Indian helplines, and multilingual support to ensure accessibility for all users.
How We Built It
We built Vishnaya using Android Studio and Kotlin for the mobile application. Google Gemini API was used for intelligent analysis, chatbot responses, and prompt-based reasoning. Firebase was used for authentication and data storage. We implemented call, message, and email monitoring modules and integrated on-device models for offline protection.
Our system design focused on combining cybersecurity with behavioral psychology. We carefully designed prompts, workflows, and user interfaces to make the platform simple, reliable, and user-friendly.
Challenges We Ran Into
One major challenge was integrating multiple system permissions such as calls, messages, and notifications while maintaining user privacy. We also faced API configuration issues and quota limitations during development. Implementing offline detection and background monitoring required extensive testing.
Balancing performance with real-time analysis was difficult, especially when handling multiple features simultaneously. Designing a smooth and intuitive user experience while maintaining strong security was another challenge.

What We Learned
Through this project, we learned how to integrate AI APIs with mobile applications and design secure, scalable systems. We gained hands-on experience in prompt engineering, mobile development, cloud integration, and user-centered design.
We also learned the importance of teamwork, time management, and iterative development. Most importantly, we understood how psychology plays a critical role in cybersecurity and how education can prevent digital crimes.
What's Next for Vishnaya – Human First Cyber Safety
In the future, we plan to develop an iOS version and expand behavioral analytics for better personalization. We aim to introduce enterprise dashboards for organizations and collaborate with government agencies for large-scale deployment.
We also plan to improve identity protection features, enhance offline intelligence, and build a community-based safety network. Our long-term goal is to make Vishnaya a trusted national platform for digital safety and awareness.
