Overall analysis of Haryana steelers
Haryana has one of the best defense in this PKL season. Their covers are the best cover duo of this season. They have got a good mix of experience and young raiders in their side. The main concern is that their corners are not consistent.
Challenges Haryana Steelers facing this season
1 - Haryana Steelers mainly depend on the performances of their leading raiders Mitu Sharma and Manjeet Dahiya, both of whom are right raiders. Haryana is not using its left raiders according to the opponent's defense.
2 - They are changing the right corner in most of the matches. Amir Hussain is their best right corner but he is a bit aggressive on the mat and after 1-2 unsuccessful tackles they were replacing him with Monu Hooda.
3 - Haryana have good left raiders like K Prapanjan and young Sushil Om but still they are giving chance to left raider Rakesh Narwal and he failed miserably this season but still he is getting more chances to play. They should try Prapanjan and Sushil instead of Rakesh Narwal.
Strategies to deal with challenges
1 - Manjeet Dahiya should play as a main lead raider. In the initial matches of this season, Haryana was in the top 3 on the points table that time Manjeet was their lead raider but from last 5-6 matches Meetu Sharma is playing as lead raider. Manjeet has 177 raids and Meetu has 217 raids. in the first 13 matches. Manjeet has a strike rate of 55% and successful raids of 44% and on the other hand Meetu has a strike rate of 46% and successful raids of 36%. so you can clearly see the difference that Manjeet is more successful than Meetu but still Meetu is getting more raids than Manjeet.
2 - Haryana should use its raider according to the defense of the opponent. Most of the team's right side defense is weak so they should use left raiders. Haryana should play with at least 1 left raider when the opponent's right side is weak. They have good left raiders like Parpanjan and Sushil. Prapanjan did well in the last match against UP Yoddha where he got 8 raid points in just 7 raids. His raid strike rate in this match was more than 100%. Had Prapanjan played the entire match, Haryana would have won the match.
3 - Amir did well this season but Haryana is making changes after 1-2 unsuccessful tackles so they should give Amir some more match time so that he can do well. Nitin Rawal should play freely, he is taking the pressure of captaincy, due to which he is not playing freely
