Inspiration

Ability for parents to manage money and for kids to learn financial literacy

What it does

Money Space is a finance app that allows parents to manage the money that their children spend, while also promoting financial literacy to kids in a fun way.

How we built it

Utilizing react native/node.js for the front end we used AWS Amplify to host the front end which integrates with our backend utilizing DynamoDB and Lambda functions to manage all of the information. We also have secured the payment information as we only store the Stripe/Visa tokens in the database and rely on their certified security to handle the sensitive information.

Challenges we ran into

Had little experience using AWS products so we had to quickly learn how to use them in order to make the backend and frontend work as intended.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Being able to go from product roadmap to fully functional MVP with our features working within the time of the hackathon.

What we learned

How to utilize AWS products in an optimal way, allowing us to host the project in a way that makes it accesible both on mobile and laptop. Additionally we learned how to utilize databases and lambda functions to ensure that sensitive personal information is secure.
