The need of an efficient solution for sending or receiving money through any messaging app is what inspired us. Our inspiration comes from personal experience, coming from countries where the usage of debit cards credit cards or even opening a bank account is not a common practice, it gave us a better understanding as to how this limits e-commerce for the customer and the merchants. People are doing transactions over the Internet, but when it comes to payments it’s always cash
What it does
Our app allows small businesses to generate sales over the Internet and accept payments through a messaging app with already high levels of adoption, WhatsApp. Whatsapp is the golden standers for messaging outside the USA and Asia. When the small business has contact with the customer, and it’s time to pay our keyboard allows the small business to generate a QR code which the client can go to a corner store scan it and pay with cash at the store that way the small business receives the money and ships the product to the client.
How we built it
It's built it on AndroidStudio , Adobe Creative suite,a QR generator and AWS.
Challenges we ran into
The primary challenge was to think about an ingenious solution to allow payments or transactions over WhatsApp.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Developing the product itself was a very fulfilling experience. This solution genuinely solves an everyday problem that small businesses face outside USA and Asia, so we are proud that we can deploy this for a small business as in Latin America
What we learned
We learned how we work together as a team and how to think outside of the box as a team
What's next for VisaPay
We understand that for people to start using credit cards over the Internet it’s a gradual switch and that’s why our products it's a great transition, from QR code and cash to directly using our app to exchange money, the Venmo of Latin America.
