Inspiration

You probably remember getting bombarded by those Meta x Ray Ban AI Glasses ads on Youtube, Instagram, and every other social media applications you frequent all throughout 2023 and 2024. The appeal of a robo-healthtech advisor is what set this project off the ground for my team and I, and we hope to provide best in market healthtech solutions via cutting-edge AI and spatial temperature sensor technology.

Visage is an impressive new web app that uses machine learning and computer vision to analyze your face and provide personalized skin care and health insights. The app takes a photo of you and uses algorithms to identify and track changes in your skin and health. It then generates detailed reports on your facial features, skin conditions, and even health conditions. Based on these reports, Visage provides you with skin care and health recommendations. Visage is still in early stages of development, but it has shown promise in assisting with early diagnosis and treatment of various skin conditions such as acne and eczema, as well as conditions such as psoriasis and rosacea. However, further research and development are needed for these functionalities to be deployed in real-world clinical settings. In the meantime, users may find it helpful to take photos regularly with the app to monitor changes in their skin or health.

Accomplishments:

We were very pleased with how our Raspberry Pi Target Server handled resource monitoring tasks semi-autonomously given the strenuous computation demands that vectorization processes have on processor units. Conversely, the application was able to produced detailed reports that are easy to read and understand, and responded very well when prompted for more concise treatment/surgical recommendations for the subject’s facial conditions.

Project Lowlights:

  • The app is still in the early stages of development, so there are many bugs and you may experience unexpected functionality
  • Not all of the reports are necessarily useful or accurate Overall, we think Visage is a promising new app. It's already useful for some users, and we're confident that it will only improve with time.
