Inspiration

Visa applications are confusing, time-consuming, and different for every country. Many students and travelers struggle to understand eligibility, prepare correct documents, and avoid rejection. We wanted to build something simple, fast, and accessible—an AI assistant that guides users clearly and reduces the stress of the entire visa process. This inspired the creation of Visa Genius X.

What it does

Visa Genius X analyzes a user’s travel purpose and instantly recommends the correct visa type, checks eligibility, lists required documents, and highlights rejection risks. It also generates essential visa documents such as SOPs, cover letters, itineraries, and financial explanation letters with a single click—making global travel documentation easy and beginner-friendly.

How we built it

Visa Genius X uses a clean frontend (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) connected to a Python backend (Flask/FastAPI). The core logic handles user profiling, visa flow selection, and rule-based preprocessing, while AI language models are integrated for eligibility reasoning and professional document generation through carefully designed prompts. The system is modular, separating profile analysis and document creation for scalability.

Challenges we ran into

Ensuring accurate visa guidance across countries, designing structured prompts, managing time during the hackathon, and building a smooth UI as beginners were major challenges. Balancing simplicity with powerful features was key.

Accomplishments we're proud of

We built a fully functional end-to-end AI visa assistant within hackathon time, delivered professional document generation, and created a clean, user-friendly interface. Most importantly, we built a real-world solution that genuinely helps first-time travelers.

What we learned

We gained hands-on experience in prompt engineering, frontend–backend integration, API usage, UI design, and building an AI-powered product from scratch. We also learned how to plan features under time constraints.

What's next

Future plans include support for more countries, document verification via uploads, advanced eligibility scoring, a mobile app, and multilingual support. Our goal is to make Visa Genius X a trusted global companion for visa applicants.
