Hello, my name is Svetlin and I work as a Data Privacy Analyst. My education and background are in IT and Cyber Security. Together with my team (my wife and our kid) during the past 3 days, we built from scratch our idea into fully functional software. We focused on fighting two main problems that the business will face during phase 2 of Covid-19:

1. Force-closing again the company because of late response to stop the spread of the virus, mostly caused by not informing on time the employees and visitors that they have been in contact with a diagnosed person – in other words, becoming a hot spot of the Covid-19 spread. US and China already require employers to implement procedures for workforce & visitors contact tracing, so we expect other countries to follow.
2. This leads us to the second problem - Losing reputation and losing the trust of customers by messing the things up with protecting the personal data in the post-crisis period. This could lead to a big GDPR fine. We can say that most of the GDPR fines will be mainly due to the lack of privacy professionals in SMBs. Our solution is called VirWS and it is a very scalable B2B Software as a Service, offering off the shelf a Virus Warning System. Our scope is to help restaurants, hotels, saloons, event organizers, offices and more, to inform their employees and visitors if they have been in contact with a diagnosed person, in a GDPR compliant way. The secret sauce of our solution is the ability to check-in the background whether a diagnosed worker, reported in company A, is part of the companies B, C and D visitors list and inform the corresponding employer, the employees of that company, and all the other visitors who have been there at the same time. We do that in an ethical manner, without exposing any personal data. No location tracking, no Bluetooth, GPS, or mobile networks tracing. Just informing. As next steps we plan to focus first on the design, figuring out our price strategy, develop a B2B marketing plan, and after that (if there is a demand) we can think about building a mobile application and adding different modules, like Managing quarantined employees, Managing symptoms check, GDPR compliance module, etc. That is all from us!
