Virus Takedown - Educating Today's Society

Inspiration

Many people don't know what vaccines do.

What it does

In the program, the player controls a white blood cell that will fight influenza in the lungs, smallpox in the skin, and rabies in the brain. The person only has a flu vaccine, so the player can see the difference between fighting a disease vaccinated and fighting one unvaccinated.

How we built it

We used pygame in replit

Challenges we ran into

We didn't have enough time for many of the things we had planned to do. For example, it was originally supposed to reset but with the vaccine after you lose, but we couldn't get this to work/

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It was very hard to make the antibodies target and weaken the viruses.

What we learned

Alex learned how to use pygame and Oliver and Nathan learned how to use objects and classes. We all learned more about the immune system.

What's next for Virus Takedown - Educating Today's Society

We may continue working on it to add the features we had originally planned to have.
