Inspiration

The journey began with the vision to transform the traditional real estate and interior design experience. I was inspired by the potential of XR technology to create immersive, interactive spaces where users can not only visualize but personalize their future homes or design projects.

What it does

VirtuoDesign allows users to take virtual tours of properties using XR technology, offering an interactive platform to customize spaces in real-time. Users can experiment with different space layouts, furniture arrangements, and design elements, providing a unique opportunity to visualize and modify properties before making any physical change. It serves a powerful tool for real estate agents, homebuyers, and interior designers.

How would be built

This application would be built using XR technologies, integrated with a user-friendly interface to ensure accessibility to all users, regardless of their tech expertise. Thanks to the PICO SDK, lots of core functionalities are given, making way easier the process of development.

Challenges we anticipate

As we embark on the journey to bring VirtuoDesign to life, we foresee several challenges. The first one is integrating complex XR technology into a user-friendly interface. Balancing technical sophistication with accessibility for users of varying tech proficiency is crucial. I also anticipate challenges in rendering realistic 3D environments that accurately mimic physic spaces. Another hurdle is ensuring seamless and stable performance across different devices.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

While still in the planning phase, I'm quite proud of the process I've been while developing the idea. I had to reach to friends that are in the real estate and the interior design industries in order to talk through the idea. And even though I could only think to get my hand into code, I think the result of this document is pretty complete.

What's next for VirtuoDesign

Besides the implementation of the idea, VirtuoDesign is set to expand its features and capabilities. Planning to incorporate AI to offer personalized design recommendations, improve the 3D asset library, and enhance the realism of the virtual environments even more. Separately, once implemented, exploring partnerships with real estate agents and design firms to further integrate our application in the industry workflow would be a key piece of VirtuoDesign.
