Inspiration for Virtual STEM Lab The Virtual STEM Lab was inspired by the pressing need to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and hands-on learning, especially for students in underserved areas who lack access to well-equipped labs. We envisioned a platform where students can experiment, explore, and discover STEM concepts through immersive and interactive virtual environments. The dream is to spark curiosity and make science accessible to all, irrespective of geographical or financial constraints.

What it does
Virtual STEM Lab Brings STEM learning to life with interactive, virtual experiments. Students can safely explore physics and chemistry concepts, all from their screens—no lab required!
ISL Translation Project Transforms English sentences into Indian Sign Language by understanding context and grammar, making communication smoother and more inclusive for the deaf community.
How we built it
Virtual STEM Lab We combined JavaScript, Three.js, and A-Frame to create immersive 3D simulations. Flask powered the backend, while Netlify and Heroku hosted the app, providing easy access anywhere.
ISL Translation Project Using Python and NLP models, we built a tool that identifies the context of words in English and translates them into Indian Sign Language. Flask handled the backend, and Google Cloud helped with data processing and scaling.
Challenges we ran into
Virtual STEM Lab Rendering Complex Simulations: Creating lifelike, interactive experiments in 3D proved challenging, especially when trying to ensure smooth performance across devices. User Engagement: Making simulations engaging and intuitive for users with varying levels of tech experience required constant iteration and testing. ISL Translation Project Contextual Understanding: Capturing the true meaning of words in context and translating them accurately into ISL was tricky, given the complexity of sign language grammar. Data Limitations: Gathering enough relevant data to train our models for accurate translation was a time-consuming challenge.
