Virtual Travel Companion

Inspiration

Our application here is called Virtual Travel Companion. We the people of Kerala have always been fans of our famous traveler Santhosh George Kulangara and his TV show “Sancharam”. We still watch him going to different parts of this beautiful world in our phone on YouTube. While he went to the reality of these places we watched him through a little virtual screen. But what if this virtual screen came along with us to the reality of these worlds. What if they guided us through the beauty of Mother Earth. Carried us along every corner of the world possible. We present to you our new application, our new friend “Virtual Travel Companion”.

What it does

This application provides us with all the information about the places you are visiting, amazing spots nearby, best restaurants and hotels around it. Also it chats and talks with us along the way just like a travel companion, guides us through the route and gives us interesting facts about the area.

How we built it

We collect all the data about all the tourist centres and nearby food and accommodation services using Kaggle and store them in a cloud service. Then we design the mobile application using Flutter. Also creating a chatbot and voice assistant to enhance the user.

Challenges we ran into

First a lot of people told us that its not easy to create such an application. But we still went on as we knew that this could be a change for the whole tourism industry. And we believe that we would be able and be the ones to do this.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our biggest achievement is that we think and work as a team in unity , supporting everyones choice and ideas to provide one of the biggest assets of the future world

What we learned

If we have learned something from this , then it is that , in this vast world of beauty , tourism does not mean just to see new places but to enjoy them with our loved ones and never be alone ever.

More than what's next for Virtual Travel Companion, it's what's more for Virtual Travel Companion. To cover all the places around our globe and to be accessed by anyone anywhere anytime is the great aim.
