Inspiration

According to a survey we did, during the pandemic, most of the community gardens and parks did not have tour guides since they could not find a way to keep it contactless.

What it does

Our website turns the community parks into a virtual tour so that people can access it or virtually 'visit' the garden from their homes or even play a game to get the tour of the garden, in-person.

How we built it

We placed QR codes around the park's popular checkpoints and developed a website to display a trivia question relating to the checkpoint the visitor is currently at.

Challenges we ran into

Since our team members were not well-versed with web development technology, we tried using Google Sites. We were communicating with each other and the organisations virtually which made it hard for us to decide what checkpoints need a QR code, and which ones don't.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are glad that we were able to pull this off without any external technical help. The process went smoothly, from design to development.

What's next for Virtual Tours for Community Parks

We want to expand this idea into the parks of other counties and add some features that could help visitors to engage.
