Inspiration

sharks play an important role in the ecosystem by maintaining the species below them in the food chain and serving as an indicator for ocean health. They help remove the weak and the sick as well as keeping the balance with competitors helping to ensure species diversity.

What it does

It helps to spread knowledge and awareness of the sharks and see the sharks virtually in 360-degree view!

How we built it

We built it with the help of Google model-viewer which is an open-source API to load 3d model objects. We have used heroku[hosting], react js[front-end], node js [backend].

Challenges we ran into

1. Passing the data from component to another component in Link (React js).
2. Connecting Frontend with Backend.
3. Hosting the backend and frontend on the heroku.
4. Collaborating virtually.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

1. Completed MVP of the project in time
2. Able to integrate google view api into the project without any bugs
3. Created a entire full stack application in 2 days
4. Learnt how to collaborate with team mates in short amount of time and have fun in between as well

What's next for Virtual Shark Wikipedia

1. To add more sharks for virtual viewer
2. To create live augmented sharks on ios/android to take pictures with the lovely sharks we have !
