Inspiration
During lockdown several Zoological parks and similar places have faced a huge loss because of lack of visitors to these places.
What it does
Virtual Sanctuary is an Augmented Reality based app that projects a 3D model of a National Park/ Wildlife Sanctuary in the real world where one can see the animals and can experience same joy as they experience in such real places. This app is basically designed to ignite the fire within people to visit such places in order to save these and respect each and every organism living on this planet as we all are dependent on each other.
How I built it
It is built using Unity, Vuforia and free unity assets.
Challenges I ran into
It was a huge challenge for me to create an exact look of wild animals and plants in the app. It took a huge time to create the model and to give it a look of a real jungle.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Finally I created the model and placed the animals in it. Its looking real to a great extent and this gave me a huge joy.
What I learned
I learned about creating a model from scratch in unity. Loading Unity free assets and adding animations to it.
What's next for Virtual Sanctuary
In future Virtual Sanctuary can also be developed more so as it can also be used for the following purposes - It can be used in schools to teach children the concept of “Food Chain”. It Can be used by Zoo\National Parks\Wildlife Sanctuaries to explain the visitors the path they are going to follow throughout the whole journey. It Can be used to study the shape and features of an animal. It can be used to motivate people to respect wildlife.
