Inspiration

Virtual Night was inspired by the emotional distance people feel in an age of constant digital connection. Late at night, surrounded by glowing screens, I kept asking: Are we truly alive, or just wandering through a maze of light? The project explores this question through sound, lyrics, and visuals — blending technology and emotion into one creative experience.

What it does

Virtual Night is an AI-assisted emotional electronic pop song that combines music, text, and imagery to express the loneliness of digital life. The project integrates:

  • Suno for AI-generated music composition
  • GPT for lyric writing and narrative development
  • Midjourney for cinematic visual generation
  • Adobe Premiere Pro for the final audio-visual production

The result is a cohesive multimedia piece that feels both human and digital — polished yet emotional.

How we built it

  1. Generated melody, rhythm, and instrumentation in Suno using prompts such as “melancholic electronic pop, 102 BPM.”
  2. Wrote and refined the lyrics with GPT, emphasizing poetic rhythm and emotional storytelling.
  3. Created atmospheric visuals in Midjourney, inspired by Wong Kar-Wai’s night city cinematography.
  4. Combined all elements in Adobe Premiere Pro, finalizing the mix, sync, and pacing for the finished track and video.

Challenges we ran into

  • Maintaining emotional consistency across AI-generated music, lyrics, and visuals.
  • Balancing digital precision with authentic human feeling.
  • Handling the unpredictability of AI prompts — small wording changes often led to major output differences.
  • Integrating multiple tools into a single seamless creative workflow.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Achieving a consistent emotional tone that bridges human vulnerability and digital clarity.

What we learned

  • Prompt engineering is a creative discipline — word choice directly shapes emotional tone.
  • The most powerful results come from human–AI collaboration, not automation.

What's next for Virtual Night

The next steps are to refine the mix and master the audio , and to expand the visual storytelling into a short music video fully synchronized with the song’s emotional arc. I also plan to experiment with interactive AI-generated visuals and live lyric generation, turning Virtual Night into an evolving real-time performance experience.
