Inspiration

The inspiration for this project arose from a simple yet powerful thought—how can we make learning about Ayurveda more engaging, accessible, and relevant in today’s digital world? In an era where synthetic medicines often lead to side effects and long-term health complications, it’s crucial to rediscover nature’s healing power. While modern medicine has made remarkable advancements, its over-reliance sometimes leads to adverse effects, dependency, and a disconnect from holistic well-being.

Ayurveda, rooted in centuries of wisdom, offers a natural and balanced approach to healing—one that harmonizes the body, mind, and soul. However, traditional knowledge is often overlooked in today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world. This gap inspired us to create the Virtual Herbal Garden, a dynamic and immersive platform that blends education, technology, and community to modernize the way people explore and understand AYUSH medicines.

Through real-time interactions, AI-driven assistance, and immersive exploration, our platform makes Ayurvedic learning more intuitive and engaging. By stepping into a digital herbal garden, users can interact with plants, learn about their medicinal properties, and gain personalized insights into holistic healing.

This project is more than just an educational tool—it’s a bridge between the past and the future, combining the wisdom of Ayurveda with the power of technology to promote a healthier, more natural way of living in the digital age.

What it does

Our project, the Virtual Herbal Garden, is an interactive 2D metaverse where users can explore, learn, and engage with medicinal plants recognized by AYUSH. Users can walk through a virtual environment, interact with plants to understand their medicinal properties, and connect with others via chat, audio, and video calls. An AI-powered chatbot answers user queries related to Ayurveda, while an integrated forum allows discussions and knowledge sharing. The platform is designed to make learning about traditional medicine immersive, social, and accessible to students, practitioners, and enthusiasts alike.

How we built it

We designed the architecture and planned the development using a robust tech stack. The frontend will be built with React.js and Phaser.js for an interactive 2D environment. The backend will be powered by Node.js, handling authentication, real-time interactions, and data management. We have structured our system with WebSockets for real-time communication, WebRTC for video and audio interactions, and an HTTP server for API requests. Data will be stored in MongoDB, including user interactions, plant details, and chat history. This structured approach ensures scalability, responsiveness, and an engaging user experience.
