Virtual Cooking

Inspiration

We wanted to create an app that encouraged people of all ages to learn how to cook and bake in a safe and fun way without having any prior experience.

What it does

Provide a wide range of easy and difficult recipes to learn on an augmented reality platform.

How I built it

We built this application through the AppLab in code.org and through echoAR.

Challenges I ran into

The brainstorming process was a large challenge, and with the help of a mentor, we were able to solidify our ideas. This step took over four hours to overcome, and we were doubtful that we would end up submitting anything.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We are proud to have overcome the creative block during the brainstorming stage and now have a product to show for it.

What I learned

We learned how to use the echoAR platform, and we experienced the stress of a hackathon for the first time.

What's next for Virtual Cooking

With more time, we will be able to fully implement AR into the app and touch up on the interface. After thorough testing, Virtual Cooking can be added to the app store so our product will reach the intended audience.
