Inspiration

The current remote eduction system has the issues of blocked coworker interaction and limited in-class participation. Therefore, we aims to develop a virtual campus that could enhance student's involvement and engagement. Our system can be also extended to workplace that works as virtual office and provide similar functionalities.

What it does

It provide a brand-new portal and virtual campus for current university student that emphasise interaction and engagement in online learning. After logging in, our student could view the map of Melbourne University and select the location they wish to access to enter associated discord platform. Therefore, Peer interactions is encouraged and the overall experience of online study is improved .

How we built it

Challenges we ran into

Lack of sleep Lack of knowledge of firebase, react and javascript Arrange the layout of elements in our pages Embed google map into our page

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We learn how to implement react in less than 12 hours, and we consume a lot of energy drink.

What we learned

Decision making. Group collaboration. Knowledge of react, javascript, firebase, npm, and node.js.

What's next for Virtual Campus Discovery

Set up user characters to walk around in the map, real time chatting, and implement 360 campus view maps
