Inspiration
After a group brainstorming session spanning several days, we eventually decided on creating a prototype for a pseudo-social media platform that would motivate the youth to practice environmental sustainability.
What it does
The full-scale of our app would allow users to discuss policies on environmental issues, enable users to read up on articles regarding certain key species, chat with other members in moderated discussions, and share photos on their progress.
How we built it
We used a mixture of Html, Javascript, and Bootstrap for our prototype. As for our mock-up, we developed it in Figma.
Challenges we ran into
We had to reel in the scope of our accomplishments throughout our coding process. One feature we had to pull back was the log-in function, which didn't work out due to complications with hosting our page.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our perseverance in obtaining an idea, and executing a prototype of our project. We are also proud of the time commitment we put into our project.
What we learned
We learned how to manage time and workload efficiently. We discovered nuances in authentication technology, and figured out how to host our project.
What's next for ViroUp
We plan on revamping our organizations page and adding proper web pages to the ends of each of our links.
