Inspiration

Technological advancements which have such a big impact on people's day-to-day life are still going strong even after COVID-19 pandemics, from fintech, healthcare, education, even on helping people to gather their basic needs such as food, clothes, housing, and even transportations. Recently, other technological advancements called Metaverse were enlivened by https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uvufun6xer8, which is a way to connect people virtually by utilizing virtual reality. Albeit being an abstract idea, the opportunity to improve people's life still raised from there, especially in the economical sector. Imagine a place where you could have the best of two worlds from game-like and real-life experience on shopping, you are free to open a store and sell your items easily, and also as a customer, you could easily test out everything in the virtual space without worrying that you might break the item, for example when you want to buy a desk, you could easily spawn your equipment such as monitors, laptops, et Cetra with few clicks.

What it does

VIRESHOP provides a futuristic experience on trading activities by utilizing virtual reality, users could enter the system as a seller or customer. There, they could easily place products, sell, buy, and do many other activities including recreational activities.

How we built it

Our team consists of UI Designer, 3D Designer, VR Developer, and Back-End Developer. Everyone worked synchronously making every process easier and more efficient. For the tech-stacks, we only choose the one that we're comfortable working with for a short time like this hackathon.

Challenges we ran into

Our biggest challenge is the time itself, integrating every part of the product such as user interface design, 3d models, the VR and the backend took quite a while, and also several external variables that we couldn't predict such as internet connection slow-downs. But we could mitigate everything and deliver the MVP.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud to be able to collaborate efficiently and finish our MVP in a short period despite still being far from a perfect product. But we believe firmly that this idea could be something big in the future.

What we learned

We learned a lot about developing a product in a short period, how to manage our time wisely, and train our mentality and emotion so that we could achieve our visions together.

What's next for VIRESHOP

For future development, we want to integrate cryptocurrency into VIRESHOP. Not only does it would help a lot with the payment system, but it also enables us to add digital products on VIRESHOP such as NFTs. We hope that VIRESHOP could be pushed further and be a bridge for everyone to have an equal chance in the Metaverse and a new experience of doing trading activities.
