Inspiration

Creators lose time moving between tools for footage, captions and exports. VYREALM brings that work into one local studio.

What it does

Import footage, plan a project in chat, add narration, transcribe speech, edit captions and audio, trim, split and reorder clips, and export landscape, portrait or square videos. Projects keep their assets and conversations, and can be saved, reopened and transferred. A creator pack extracts a 1280×720 frame from your footage and creates editable publishing drafts from your brief; it does not generate images or research trends.

How we built it

Electron and JavaScript power the app; SQLite stores projects. FFmpeg handles editing and exports, Piper creates narration, and Whisper transcribes speech. Optional integrations are being developed for local language assistance; ComfyUI/Wan provides a local video-generation path. YouTube connection uses desktop OAuth. No credentials ship with the app; other users configure their own OAuth client.

Challenges

Keeping projects, conversations and processing jobs in sync—and ensuring the desktop package matches the tested app. Local video generation remains slow and needs visual review.

What we verified

The Windows 1.0.8 installer was built and installed. In the native app, we tested editing, rendering, playback, download and restart. This is an unsigned Windows preview; macOS has not been tested. Through the normal UI, we verified timeline trim, split, reorder, save, reopen and export. Earlier checks covered import, narration, transcription, caption and audio edits, three export formats, download and project transfer; exported files decoded and saved work survived a server restart.

Template creation and an automation run produced a real render that decoded fully, plus a creator pack marked for review. The automation record persisted in SQLite after restart. These checks reported no page errors. The app exposes 46 MCP tools.

On the owner's live YouTube account, we verified OAuth connection, channel reads, analytics and token persistence. A private upload from VYREALM’s Export screen succeeded on that account: the interrupted job resumed without a duplicate, YouTube finished processing, and reopening passed. Public publishing and onboarding for other users remain unverified; the Google OAuth app remains subject to its unverified-app user cap. Three short films have been reviewed: Earth After Dark (27 seconds), Sun (30 seconds) and Tea (5 seconds). Earth After Dark uses imported NASA footage. A new workflow demo is in preparation; no public demo link is included yet.

Source and the Windows 1.0.8 release are available on GitHub.

What we learned

A successful render is only part of the job. Creators also need dependable exports and projects they can recover.

What's next

Verify public YouTube publishing and onboarding for other users, add research inside VYREALM, publish the reviewed showcase, and improve generation speed and quality. The full channel-automation vision is still in progress. We have not established cinematic quality or viral performance.
