I've always wanted to visualize a massive extraterrestrial battle — but with the speed, scale, and strange physics that only AI filmmaking can deliver. Viper Strike began as an experiment in building large-scale alien warfare scenes using next-generation generative video tools, inspired by Halo, Independence Day, and Mass Effect.
What it does
The short recreates a full alien invasion: atmospheric dogfights, ground defenses, collapsing cityscapes, and the implosion of a mothership from a singularity weapon. It blends alien architecture, AI-generated ship design, and fast-cut action into a cinematic micro-experience.
How we built it
This project was created using Google VEO 3 for generative video, paired with multi-pass rendering, scene stitching, and custom sound design. AI-assisted workflows handled the explosions, laser fire, smoke simulations, ship movement, and planetary environments. The final edit was assembled in CapCut with layered sound, bass impacts, and stereo transitions.
Challenges we ran into
Aliens ships and fighter craft pushed the model to its limits. Maintaining consistent ship silhouettes, continuous physics, and cohesive lighting across multiple generations required dozens of iterations. Matching motion vectors and syncing explosions to audio took significant refinement.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We achieved a full alien invasion sequence — complete with capital ships, interceptor squadrons, and a collapsing mothership — entirely with generative AI. The singularity-implosion shot stands out as one of the most visually compelling effects created in this series.
What we learned
Consistency is everything in AI sci-fi. We refined a workflow for keeping alien factions visually stable across clips and discovered new prompting techniques for realistic fire, lasers, debris, and atmospheric haze.
What's next for Viper Strike – AI-Generated Alien Invasion
We plan to expand Viper Strike into a three-part mini-saga, introducing the alien homeworld, the motives behind the invasion, and the final counteroffensive from the defenders of Aethel. Future episodes may add character-driven storytelling layered over the large-scale VFX work.
