Inspiration
One of our very performative team members brought a violin to the hackathon, and since we were contemplating making a randomly generated terrain game, a violin flight simulator was the most obvious choice.
What it does
It's a game where you play as a disembodied flying violin and try to avoid yellow orbs of death. Quite fun right?
How we built it
With vanilla TypeScript (bad idea) using Three.js (worse idea).
Challenges we ran into
We had issues with poor code quality leading to an incomprehensible codebase and endless merge conflicts.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The game somehow works.
What we learned
Team members should work on their own branches to avoid ruining the master branch.
What's next for Violin Flight
Better voice control, better enemy AI, and performance optimizations (they are very, very needed).
