Inspiration
We wanted to complete a full-stack progressive web application that is responsive, efficient and serves a niched passionate community.
What it does
VVG is a PWA in progress which sells vintage video games in an NES game-like setting, payments are integrated via Stripe, with an admin panel to control inventory, Oauth available.
How we built it
We used React and React-Redux for client-side and Node.js, PostgreSQL, Sequelize for server-side.
Challenges we ran into
We had a lot of debates regarding how we want to persist guest data, and save as much space and perform more efficient and fewer API calls as possible.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We completed the styling for the website in less than two hours, we prioritized functionality but aesthetics didn't come out too shabby.
What we learned
Triple programming works as well!
What's next for Vintage Vidya Games
We will implement new features such as hovering over an item for sample gameplay, a sound button that turns the audio off, and customized single item views.
