Inspiration

We are Vinky Team and we create Augmented Reality Ukrainian Glorious Head Wreaths with Flowers :)

Our inspiration for Lensathon was to create a new vision of Fashion AR Snap Lenses with Augmented Reality Ukrainian Traditional Head Wreaths with Flowers.

In Ukraine, wreaths had solar symbols. The girl in the wreath was associated with the rising sun. It is also a symbol of glory, victory, holiness, happiness, success, power, peace, sun, power, chastity, youth, and virginity.

We want to create not just an AR Lens but the Story and the symbols encoded into it. We want to start a Trend of Ukrainian Traditional Head Wreaths for Snap users and create a whole collection of them.

What it does

Our AR Snap Lens can be applied on the head through Snapchat. It is a 3D model and is made of different flowers with colored Ukrainian Ribbons.
 It looks glorious and great :)

How we built it

At first, we started Lensathon from zero. During the Lensathon, we created the idea of AR Snap Lens with the senses of Ukrainian Traditional Head Wreaths. We found people in our team. Then we built a 3D model of the head wreath in Blender, we created a model, optimized it, reduced the number of triangles to work well on mobile devices, and worked with textures, colors, and compressed textures. After that, we went to Snapchat Lens Studio and used different functions of it - placed the model, optimized it, imposed textures, and chose the transparency option, so that the textures become transparent without a black background and so that small details are separated from the background and they look natural (flowers and other elements). We also turned on the option of smoothing the skin on the face, and adjusted it, reduced the sharpness of the contour eyes.

Challenges we ran into

Challenge was to create a pretty 3D model of Ukrainian Traditional Head Wreaths and to fit the model's head so that it sits nicely.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we did everything in a short period and it turned out very beautiful and as we like.

What we learned

We learned to work in Snap Lens Studio, it has all the needed functions, and it was very simple to get everything in Studio. We learned how to publish our lenses correctly. It was a very very interesting experience for us to realize all this project.

We will create a collection of Glorious Ukrainian AR Head Wreaths in different styles, colors, and with different senses. We want to make Snap Trend to Use our cool AR Vinky :)
