Inspiration

Every day, millions of households face the "analysis paralysis" of deciding what to cook, which often leads to financial strain and significant food waste. VIKO was born to bridge the gap between advanced multimodal AI and the everyday kitchen, transforming regular ingredients into immediate, sustainable culinary solutions.

What it does

VIKO is an AI-powered ecosystem that simplifies meal preparation. Users simply snap a photo of their available ingredients. Using Gemini's vision capabilities, the app automatically identifies the items and instantly curates a dynamic feed of short-form video recipes from real creators. To ensure a seamless cooking experience, a 100% hands-free voice interface guides the user step-by-step, eliminating the need to touch screens with messy hands.

How we built it

The platform is designed around Gemini's multimodal capabilities for real-time ingredient recognition and natural language processing for the voice assistant. The architecture couples a robust backend to handle video API integration with a user-friendly mobile framework geared toward everyday consumers.

Challenges we face

As a non-technical founder leading the product vision and business strategy, the primary challenge is connecting with the right technical co-founders. We are currently recruiting talented Full-Stack, Mobile, and AI Engineers within the XPRIZE community to transform this structured concept into a functional, market-ready application.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have successfully mapped out a highly scalable business model with clear, predictable revenue streams. VIKO doesn't just solve a daily chore; it operates as a viable business through grocery delivery partner commissions, premium smart-budgeting subscriptions, and native advertising for consumer brands.

What's next for VIKO

Our immediate goal is to finalize our core engineering team through this hackathon, build the functional MVP utilizing the Gemini API, and scale the application to help millions of households reduce food waste while saving time and money.
