What it does

Vigor Eats is a personalized food delivery app that recommends meals based on a user’s BMI, dietary needs, and preferences. It offers two membership plans: a Monitored Plan with AI-suggested meals and a Flexible Plan for custom choices. It includes real-time order tracking, allergy alerts, meal customization, nutritional breakdowns, progress tracking, and secure payments.

How we built it

Built as a Single Page Application using React 18, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS, Vigor Eats is powered by Zustand for state management and React Router for navigation. The backend uses Firebase for auth, Supabase for data storage, Express.js for APIs, and Socket.io for live tracking. We integrated Cloudinary for image hosting and Razorpay for seamless payments.

Challenges we ran into

We faced technical and UX challenges, especially in building a smart recommendation engine, integrating real-time tracking, and handling diverse customization and allergy cases. Payment edge cases (refunds, delays) were tricky, and designing an intuitive interface that educates without overwhelming took multiple design iterations.
