"Vidyarthi" is your comprehensive solution for enhancing the student experience:

For Students:

  1. Personalized Score Display: Instantly view individual scores uploaded by teachers, eliminating the hassle of searching through lengthy lists.
  2. Room Availability: Access real-time room occupancy status through CCTV feeds, making it easier to find vacant spaces on campus.
  3. Railway Concession Form: Skip the queues with an online form, generating official receipts for hassle-free concession availing.
  4. Resource Repository: Access teacher-uploaded notes and resources for efficient organization and study.
  5. Coding Platform: Practice coding in various languages with an online compiler, optimized with AI assistance for beginners.
  6. Library Card Issuance: Streamline paperwork with automated validation and issuance of library cards based on student credentials.
  7. Event Scheduler: Stay updated on upcoming events and tests without the need for physical notices, as teachers manage schedules online.

For Teachers:

  1. Efficient Management: Update student marks, schedule tests, and upload resources seamlessly through the teacher portal.

Plus:

  • Financial Literacy Section: Engage in fun games to learn about finance and money management.
  • Virtual Campus Tour: Experience a 360-degree campus tour, perfect for freshmen orientation and exploration.

How we built it

"Vidyarthi" was built using the MERN stack and Firebase, enabling seamless integration and efficient data management. Leveraging Node.js and Express.js for the backend, MongoDB for the database, and React.js for the frontend, we created a dynamic platform for students and teachers. Firebase facilitated real-time communication, while agile methodologies ensured effective team collaboration. Through this cohesive approach, "Vidyarthi" became a user-friendly solution, empowering users in their academic journey.

Challenges we ran into

Developing "Vidyarthi" presented challenges in integrating technologies, ensuring real-time updates, addressing security concerns, scaling for growth, and optimizing user experience. Despite these hurdles, our team's collaborative efforts and problem-solving skills enabled us to deliver a robust and user-friendly platform.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Despite being a small team of just two members, we're incredibly proud of what we've accomplished with "Vidyarthi." As beginners in backend development, tackling our first backend project was a daunting challenge, but we rose to the occasion and successfully built the infrastructure for our platform. Leveraging Firebase was a strategic decision that allowed us to implement real-time communication seamlessly, despite our limited resources. Our proudest achievement, however, is undoubtedly the integration of animated avatars. This feature not only adds a fun and engaging element to "Vidyarthi" but also showcases our creativity and dedication to delivering a polished user experience. As a dynamic duo, we've demonstrated our ability to overcome obstacles and achieve our goals through collaboration, innovation, and sheer determination.

What we learned

Our journey with "Vidyarthi" as a team has been a rich learning experience. We delved into backend development,etc. Firebase integration taught us about real-time database systems, facilitating seamless communication. Implementing animated avatars enhanced our frontend design skills, fostering user engagement. Collaboration strengthened our teamwork and communication abilities, while problem-solving honed our analytical thinking. Overall, "Vidyarthi" not only provided us with technical expertise but also valuable lessons in teamwork and problem-solving.

What's next for Vidyarthi

In the future, "Vidyarthi" aims to implement facial recognition in its surveillance system for enhanced security and render 3D components more accurately in the campus tour experience. Additionally, we plan to integrate features that assist students in securing better placements, including resume-building tools and access to job listings tailored to their interests. These initiatives reflect our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring that "Vidyarthi" remains at the forefront of enhancing the student experience and fostering career success.
