Inspiration

While DocuSign brought revolutionary changes to the way companies manage electronic agreements, we found that accompanying electronic signature with real-time video calls would make people perceive even less uncertainty and more trust in the technology.

What it does

With VideoSign, users would be able to collaboratively modify the agreement online, easily generate a secured file for signature, and seamlessly verify each other's identity through real-time video calls.

How We built it

Using Agora Video Call API and Google Doc API, we embedded video call and e-signature functionalities on our site.

Challenges We ran into

Originally we were planning to use the DocuSign API for e-signature functionality, but we encountered difficulties while trying to embed DocuSign documents directly on our site instead of making it a pop-up window.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We believe that the idea to combine video call with e-signature would be appreciated by relatively conservative users and companies. We are also confident that our product would be able to significantly reduce the sense of uncertainty and make electronic agreement management more secure.

What We learned

We got acquainted with varies APIs. We also acquired more knowledge about the underlying policies and laws regarding electronic agreements.

What's next for VideoSign

A better embedded sub-screen for customers to negotiate and modify documents, an end-to-end approach to generate a DocuSign pdf document out of the modified document. The whole process of drafting documents, negotiating documents, signing documents, can be unified into an efficient, secure, and trusted platform. With the technology that Agora has achieved, the potential of VideoSign is promising.
