Inspiration

With the next 2-4 years of college ahead of us, we will encounter countless lectures. Sometimes, the professors can talk too fast, too slow, or too long, which can cause misunderstanding of the given topic. We want simplify learning for students, written in their own style. Our team are all current students which is why we love helping other students. We also love learning over anything which is why we strive to make university lectures simple for everyone!

What it does

Given a mp3 file, our AI will generate notes and summaries based on the transcript of the given file. With our prompt engineering, the AI will return simple notes and summaries once it "listens" to the file! We hope to expand to more media files in the future.

How we built it

Our tech stack consist of Python, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Flask, OpenAI API, and Whisper.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into was connecting the backend to the frontend, authenticating API keys, merge conflicts, and understanding Flask for the first time. The mountains we encountered were treacherous and mighty but with our team collaboration and amazing developers we managed to climb to the peak.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to learn how to implement new APIs, frameworks, AI, and designs. Our team collaboration went smoothly with communication and high morale.

What we learned

Some of us learned how to use Git, OpenAI API, and Flask for the first time. The skills were learned these past 36 hours are invaluable and truly an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
