Why We Built Video Whisperer We created this conversational video editor for one simple reason: we needed it. As creators, we found video to be one of the most powerful mediums in the world—but also one of the most time-consuming. Editing even basic cuts took far too long. We wanted to short-circuit that process.

With the rise of conversational AI, we saw an opportunity to cut through the complexity. Our goal was to build a tool that lets anyone—regardless of experience—achieve high-quality edits just by talking. No timeline scrubbing. No tedious clicks. Just tell the app what you want, and it happens.

From Editor to Builder As a former editor, I know firsthand how much effort goes into even the simplest adjustments. So when we realized how far conversational AI has come, it became clear: this is our moment to reimagine the entire editing workflow—make it faster, easier, and more intuitive than ever before.

How We’re Building It We're using Bolt.new to build our MVP. Our process is iterative:

-Prompt- for initial full app design ideas -Flow - pulled into Figma to create a wireframe of the full flow -Pulled screenshots back over to Bolt to create the full flow as a prototype in Bolt -Debug -Prompt again to create full app functionality -Repeat (a lot)

The Challenges One of our biggest lessons? Don’t try to do everything at once. Early on, we hit a wall by overloading the prompts and it bogged down the system and we had to revert a lot. Once we realized this we changed our approach on our whole build, we decided to get the whole flow fully functional then go through and clean up the UI screen by screen.

Other challenges included -Keeping the UI consistent across screens when you build functionality screen by screen -Testing functionality as you make changes -Balancing speed with quality

Wins (So Far) -A fully working MVP -Real-time conversational editing -A clear plan for the future and launch -Learning how to build something from scratch!

Next Step Plans for Video Whisperer -A major UI polish to make everything sleek and joyful to use -Training our own fine-tuned LLM for video editing -Adding features and long-form options -Launching to the public!
