Inspiration
We have realized that people have no real access to a reliable source of education, and we were inspired to help these students though this Video Translator, striving for equity in the educational world regardless of your background.
What it does
The front end of our translator takes in a video file, then it lets our users select a language of their choice. The code first splits the audio and video file. Then, using RapidAPI’s translator 2, it translates the video into the desired language. Lastly, it returns the video to the user on a built-in player.
How we built it
We built this project using a variety of languages such as javascript, html, and css.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into include a ton of debugging code. Also, the API key kept running out, so we had to keep getting a new one.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of being able to be in our positions providing something that can change other people's lives.
What we learned
We learned to incorporate various javascript concepts and RapidAPI's translator.
What's next for Video Translator
Some future steps we plan to take include more of a real life conversation with another human rather than a utility on the web. This makes it more lifelike and genuine, helping the users succeed in their goals.
