đź’ˇ Why I Started Building This (The Real Problem)

If you’ve ever tried to learn video editing, content creation, or just tried to study why certain videos blow up, you know this exact frustration:

You remember seeing a video three weeks ago with the perfect 4-second camera transition, or an insane explanation of a complex topic. You want to use it as a reference. But good luck finding it.

You spend the next 45 minutes manually dragging the scrub bar across 50 different reels in your saved folder, squinting at the screen, hoping you catch the exact frame.

Video is basically a black hole on the internet. You can Ctrl+F through a 500-page book in milliseconds, but you can’t search inside a 30-second reel.

At the same time, most creators and editors are basically gambling on algorithms. Nobody actually knows why a video held someone’s attention at second 3 and lost it at second 8. And the advice online is always vague: "Make a good hook."

Existing AI tools don't solve this—they just generate generic, robotic scripts that sound like ChatGPT slop.

I wanted something real: a tool that could deconstruct thousands of top-performing videos, index every single frame and spoken word, and show me the actual anatomy of what works.

⚙️ What I Am Building: VIOS (Video Intelligence OS)

I am building VIOS — a video intelligence engine and desktop app that reverse-engineers top-performing content across 10,000+ reels and long-form videos in any niche.

It makes all videos semantically searchable by analyzing every element across the footage, along with metadata and real engagement metrics (views, likes, comments, view-to-follower ratios).

Here is what VIOS gives creators, YouTubers, and video editors:

1. "Ctrl+F for Video" (Instant Reference Finder)

Instead of searching by titles or tags, you search what is actually happening in the video using plain English:

"Find the shot where someone is assembling a watch under warm desk lighting" or "When does he explain why watch time matters?" VIOS takes you straight to that exact second. You get the exact reference clip that was stuck in your head in seconds, without any manual scrubbing.

2. Viral Outlier Radar

Most tools only look at huge creators who already have millions of followers. But VIOS hunts for the real outliers—small accounts with 1,000 followers whose reel somehow hit 1 million views (100x view-to-follower ratio). It isolates those breakout videos so you can deconstruct the exact formula they used before everyone else starts copying it.

3. High-Demand Content Gaps

The biggest goldmine is always the comment section. VIOS reads full comment threads from competitor videos and cross-references them against what the video actually covered. It flags high-intent questions and pain points that viewers were begging for, but the creator never answered. That is instant, high-demand content handed to you on a plate.

4. Real Creative Blueprints (Not Lazy AI Scripts)

I don’t want VIOS to just vomit out a lazy, generic AI script. Instead, it acts as a guide for creators: showing you how the video was actually built—frame-by-frame pacing, how long the visual hook lasted, where pattern interrupts were placed, and how the narrative flowed, all backed by real engagement data.

🛠️ What I Have Already Built & Working

I didn't want to just talk about an idea. I got my hands dirty and built the hardest engineering pieces myself:

1. The Full Social Harvester (100% Working)

I built a complete Instagram scraper. In just a few clicks, it downloads entire profiles:

  • All reels, posts, IGTV, and carousels (MP4s, images, slides)
  • Full audio tracks
  • Complete nested comment threads
  • Every piece of metadata you can imagine (views, likes, comments, captions, timestamps)

2. Autonomous Cloud-to-GPU Pipeline (100% Working)

Processing 10,000 videos locally would instantly fry my laptop GPU. So I built an automated backend:

  • The scraper automatically packages and uploads the videos and metadata into a private Telegram channel (which acts as my free, permanent cloud storage).
  • A headless worker running on cloud GPUs (Kaggle / Colab / local) automatically pulls the videos, decodes the frames, and runs them through AI models.
  • If a session resets, the database state is safely backed up and restored with zero data loss.

3. The Multi-Model Brain & Tri-Partite Database

Instead of relying on one generic model, I split the video across specialized open-source models:

  • Audio: Whisper extracts timestamped transcripts down to the millisecond.
  • Vision: YOLO detects objects on screen, while SigLIP and CLIP turn video frames into vector embeddings so you can search visual concepts with text.
  • On-Screen Text: EasyOCR reads text, captions, and graphics inside the video.
  • Databases: Everything is saved into a Vector DB (Qdrant) for instant semantic search, a Relational DB (SQLite/PostgreSQL) for social metrics, and a Knowledge Graph (Neo4j) to connect topics with viewer comments and hook mechanics.

👥 Who This Helps & Why It Matters

  • Creators & YouTubers: Eliminates creative block and guessing. You know what people want to watch and how top videos structured their retention before you hit record.
  • Video Editors: Saves 10+ hours a week searching for references and B-roll inspiration.
  • Solo Builders & Agencies: Allows anyone to analyze an entire niche's top 1,000 videos in an afternoon and spot gaps competitors missed.

🚀 Why I Am Ready for the In-Person Round at IIT Guwahati

I already have:

  • The scraper completely done and pulling real data.
  • The cloud GPU extraction pipeline running and extracting video frames and transcripts.
  • The core search database and schema built.
