Inspiration
My inspiration for this project was learning about different real-world topics and creating a website to provide information. Video games are top-rated right now. Creating a website where anyone can get quick information and learn about the pros and cons of video games was my goal. Building a website where anyone can go on and retain information about the effects of video games, from teens to adults, people can click on my website and learn something new.
What it does
My website provides educational information about the topic of video games and the effects of playing them. My website covers the pros and cons of video games, the rise of video games during covid-19, and some simple facts about video games. There is also a survey for users to input their own experience on video games and how it affects the,.
How we built it
I built my website using HTML and CSS. I first started off with no idea what to do but the kits helped starting my website and staring my first line of html.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenges was first trying to learn HTML and CSS since I am used to Python. HTML and CSS was very rewarding to learn and I picked it up fast. Building the website and decorating it with CSS was difficult with lots of trial and error. When creating the survey, the biggest hurdle was trying to remember and create all the different questions in code. In the end, I am very proud of what I could do with little knowledge in those languages.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating a working survey and navbar was a huge milestone. Making the website look more professional was also very rewarding.
What we learned
I learned about two new computer languages and how to build webpages from Scratch. I also learned how to figure out and troubleshoot different problems when they arrived and how to use VSS.
What's next for Video Game Web Track Submission - Trent Harbour
I would like to expand on my website with more css and add JavaScript to it. I have never used JavaScript but would like to learn and create animations and effects to add to my project.
