All the team members were international students belonging from the same country, including me. Despite being from different states in India, all of us have seen the problem of blood shortages prevailing in the private and public health care system. None of us ever saw any solutions being implemented to solve these flaws in the medical system. We all had a common mindset of finding a solution to this problem, as the medical sector affects all groups in society. Through this process of creating a solution, we had a complicated brainstorming session, creating a conflict of ideas. Moreover, we had only one professional coder on the team, having an excess workload on him. Combining all these factors seemed as though it was impossible to work together efficiently. Nonetheless, each step of the process was looked at with a positive attitude by all the team members, finally leading us to create an application named Vicky Donor.
WHAT IS VICKY DONOR?
Vicky donor is an online platform where the donors and the hospitals meet. This application aims to tackle blood shortages by equipping the hospitals with a database of people willing to donate blood and their locations. Since the entire process is online, it is no more tedious for the donor, merely taking 10-15 minutes. Thus, Hospitals get a wide variety of donors to choose from and have a list of donors at any point in time in case of shortages or emergencies.
