Vibi is a music-centric social platform designed to help music lovers discover and connect with people who share similar music tastes, energy, and vibes in a safer and more comfortable environment.

Today, music communities are mostly built on general social platforms such as Instagram, WhatsApp, and Telegram. These platforms are not designed specifically around music discovery and meaningful connections, and users may feel pressure to share personal information. Vibi approaches social connection differently — your music becomes your social identity.

Users begin by creating an anonymous alias, answering questions about their music preferences, personality, and vibe, and selecting their favourite artists. Based on these choices, Vibi creates a VIBI Passport, a personalised representation of their music identity and vibe. Users can then enter music-focused communities, chat anonymously, discover playlists and places, and participate in music-related games.

Privacy and safety are core parts of Vibi. The platform is designed around anonymous identities rather than real names and includes mechanisms for detecting and blocking personal information such as phone numbers and email addresses, along with identity/location detection, offensive-content filtering, and message controls.

The current project is a functional website prototype built using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), responsive UI, LocalStorage, client-side validation, artist-vibe mapping, and a custom vibe-profile/recommendation approach.

Our vision is to make Vibi a meaningful part of the lives of music lovers — a place where people can discover new music, meet people with similar tastes, explore communities, and build connections without making personal identity the starting point. In the future, Vibi can expand into a mobile platform with real music integration, smarter vibe matching, stronger moderation, artist and event connections, and music communities across different genres and vibes.

Vibi — Your Music. Your Vibe. Your People.
