Inspiration

Everyday I sit in music NFT Twitter spaces and everyone is complaining that music NFTs have no purpose and I myself love music NFTs because I make them as an AVID music artist AND I collect them. So I knew I had to come up with a solution that gave real world value to music NFTs so that we could all enjoy this amazing tech with the whole world.

What it does

Vibez Voting is a prototype. Users can come, listen to songs, earn tokens from listening to said songs, claim their tokens, and then use these tokens to vote on their favorite songs. A winner is then selected using weighted randomness in which the songs with the most votes have the highest chance of winning.

How we built it

We built it by going hard af for a few days to make a viable prototype. We used solidity, react, javascript, and Webflow to make the product you see today.

Challenges we ran into

Very little sleep. Deploying onto test EVMOS was pretty hard because it went down. Coming up with a viable prototype for our grand vision. We ran out of server space so we had to use IPFS so it took awhile for the songs to load.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We finished everything we needed to in time to submit to this hackathon even though it was last minute.

What we learned

Check hackathon deadlines more often. EVMOS has beautifully low gas fees and fast transaction finality.

What's next for Vibez Voting

Vibez Voting is a prototype of a larger idea for a Web3 streaming service that allows users to earn tokens on music NFTs they listen to as well as earn tokens from other people listening to music NFTs they have collected. They collect these music NFTs by voting on the next mint using a weighted randomness method in which the songs with the most votes have the highest chance of winning . The voters who voted on the winning music NFT receive whitelist spots to mint that music NFT.
