Inspiration

The idea for VibeSync came from real-life situations where friends travel together or sit in quiet places like libraries but cannot play music out loud. Even though everyone listens individually using earphones, the shared experience of enjoying the same song at the same time is missing. We wanted to recreate that shared vibe in a simple and accessible way.

What it does

VibeSync is a real-time music synchronization app that allows multiple users to listen to the same song together on their own devices. Users can create or join a room using a unique code and control playback collaboratively. It also includes a Silent Party Mode designed for quiet environments like buses, trains, or libraries.

How we built it

We used MeDo to design and build the application by providing structured prompts. The platform helped generate the UI, room-based interaction system, and playback logic. Our focus was on simplicity, responsiveness, and smooth user experience.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was achieving synchronized playback across multiple users, as real-time coordination can be complex. We also had to balance simplicity and functionality while working within limited resources.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of building a functional and user-friendly application that solves a real-world problem. The concept of Silent Party Mode and shared listening experience makes VibeSync unique. We successfully created a working prototype within limited time.

What we learned

We learned how to turn an idea into a working application using AI tools like MeDo. We also gained insights into user experience design, real-time interaction challenges, and effective problem-solving.

What's next for VibeSync

We plan to improve synchronization accuracy, integrate real music streaming APIs, and enhance the overall experience. Future updates may include personalized playlists, friend groups, and cross-platform support.

VibeSync is a real-time collaborative music listening web application designed to let multiple users experience synchronized music playback together through shared rooms.

The idea was inspired by situations where friends travel together or spend time in quiet environments but still want to enjoy music collectively in sync. The app solves this by allowing users to create a room, share a unique code, and listen to the same music simultaneously.

I used MeDo as the primary development platform to rapidly prototype, iterate, and refine the application experience. Instead of manually coding every component from scratch, I focused on defining product behavior, user experience, synchronization flow, and interaction logic while continuously guiding MeDo through structured prompts and iterative improvements.

One of the most impressive capabilities MeDo helped generate was the room-based collaborative listening experience, including synchronized playback behavior, shared room architecture, responsive UI generation, and multi-user interaction flows.

I also used MeDo to iteratively improve the interface and user controls by refining playback behavior, room management, synchronization indicators, and overall usability through multiple guided conversations.

The project demonstrates how AI-assisted development can accelerate product creation while still requiring strong problem-solving, feature planning, testing, and product thinking from the builder.
