Many of the members in our communities are experiencing mental health crises with the events that had unraveled, and we wished to change that. We wanted to help people cope with the stress of isolation, boredom, loneliness, and other feelings during these times of COVID-19. In order to achieve this, we created an app that would help people through these stressful times.

What it does

In order to help everyone cope with the current situation, our team has developed an app called Vibe Up!, which aims to improve their user’s mental health through several means. Its features include a journaling section, a daily inspirational quotes section, and a news section! All of these tools are meant to help better users’ mental health during troubling times, especially during COVID-19.

How we built it

We used a Google Sites to simulate what our website would look like. We incorporated some HTML for several aspects, including the Your Journal section and Daily Inspirational Quotes Section.

Challenges we ran into

We had trouble constructing the daily quotes section, since we wanted a quote to be updated daily. Some of us weren't very acquainted with code, but we were eventually able to figure it out.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of being able to create this website to better people's mental health! It was cool being able to compile an assortment of resources to help others around the globe.

What we learned

We learned about the several ways people could alleviate stress, such as journaling and reading positive news. Additionally, we were able to also learn the process of making sites and what steps must be done in order to make one.

What's next for Vibes Up!

We will continue to spread news about Vibes Up! and continue to work in order to develop the app!
