🧠 VibeDeals – The AppSumo for AI Builders

🚀 About the Project

VibeDeals is a digital marketplace where indie developers and AI builders can list and sell lifetime deals of their AI-powered apps, SaaS, and tools they create — helping them monetize side projects and generate sustainable revenue. It’s like AppSumo, but tailor-made for the rapidly growing wave of tools built with AI.

💡 What Inspired This?

I’ve been part of the solo SaaS and indie dev scene, and one recurring challenge I noticed was:

“I built something cool with AI, but I don’t know where to sell it.”

At the same time, developers are tired of chasing monthly MRR early on. With more AI tools launching than ever, I realized the market needed a discovery and monetization hub built specifically for this new generation of AI-powered indie products.

Thus, VibeDeals was born — a home for lifetime deals from AI builders, for early adopters who love trying new tools and supporting innovation.

🛠️ How I Built It

• Frontend: React + TailwindCSS (super clean, modern UI/UX with reusable components)
• Backend: Supabase (PostgreSQL + auth + storage)
• Authentication: Supabase Auth with user roles (Admin, Partner, Customer)
• Admin Portal: Built a complete approval and analytics dashboard
• Partner Portal: Simple onboarding for developers to submit/manage deals
• Product Listings: Custom CMS-like editor with deal features, discounts, countdowns, and categories
• Performance: Lazy loading, code-splitting, and real-time data updates for scalability

• Creators can list their tools in < 10 minutes
• Submit pricing, screenshots, feature list, and product info
• Track product status, earnings, and feedback
• AI-tagged tools auto-categorize for users to discover faster

🛡️ Admin Portal – Review, Approve, Grow

• Admins can approve/reject submissions
• Monitor partner activity, sales metrics, customer retention, conversion rates
• Manage platform categories, analytics, and featured deals
• All built with Supabase + fully reactive UI

📚 What I Learned

• How to manage a multi-role system (admin, partners, public users) in a clean way
• Balancing indie UX (fun and easy) with enterprise logic (secure and scalable)
• Structuring scalable marketplaces (CRUD + lifecycle workflows for digital products)
• Handling real-time metrics with Supabase functions and edge performance

🧗 Challenges Faced

• Building a clean approval pipeline between partners and admins that worked in real time
• Preventing duplication and ensuring clean product listing UX for both users and developers
• Designing across three separate experiences (customer site, partner portal, admin portal) in one unified ecosystem
• Getting Supabase to work seamlessly with React + Vite while keeping auth secure and persistent
