People often second-guess their outfits before leaving the house.
"Do these colors match?" "Does this look good on me?" "Should I change something?"
We wanted to build something simple that helps people make that decision faster. As indecisive outfit-pickers, we wanted to create an app to help us choose colors that match our skin tone, give fashion advice, and help us amplify an outfit.
VibeCheck.ai utilizes a live camera feed, combined with Gemini AI, to analyze what someone is wearing and provide real-time suggestions. It focuses on color matching and overall outfit balance to help users improve their look instantly. We run VibeCheck.ai on localhost through a web browser.
A significant challenge we ran into was working together with Git. We've had a lot of merge conflicts, and at the beginning, spent hours learning how to push and pull from GitHub. It helped, though, because we kept running into issues and got faster. We learned how challenging this could be, and how to work a webcam detection system.
We're proud of building a working real-time fashion feedback system and creating a simple and easy-to-use experience.
We aim to grow this idea further post the hackathon. We want to understand whole outfits and their niche, give recommendations on what to buy, and adapt suggestions based on trends, weather, and occasion.
VibeCheck.ai was built with the idea that getting dressed should be easier and make you feel more confident.
