Inspiration With the explosion of AI tools and creative platforms, everyone’s building something—but not every idea holds up under scrutiny. We wanted to build a no-nonsense validator that doesn’t sugarcoat feedback. Something that tells you if your idea vibes… or if it dies.

What it does Vibe Checker analyzes your startup or software idea using critical metrics: originality, relevance, feasibility, tech readiness, and user appeal. It gives you a breakdown of strong and weak points, cites relevant sources or examples, and—if requested—generates a ready-to-use build prompt tailored for vibe coding platforms like Bolt.new, Framer, or Replit.

How we built it We combined OpenAI's GPT capabilities with a custom scoring rubric and a relevance-checking system that scans current trends and startup databases. Bolt.new was used for rapid interface and logic buildout. The UI mimics a “black box” decision panel with expandable diagnostics and one-click prompt generation.

Challenges we ran into Defining what makes an idea truly “vibe-worthy” across niches

Avoiding vague feedback and instead offering sharp, critical insight

Generating build prompts that were not just long—but immediately usable in low-code or vibe-code platforms

Accomplishments that we're proud of Building an honest validator that users actually trust

Creating multi-platform prompt outputs that reflect both vision and constraints

Turning critical thinking into a tool—not a roadblock

What we learned People want blunt feedback—but also next steps

Most ideas fail not because they’re bad, but because they’re vague

Vibe coding becomes powerful when paired with clear direction

What’s next for Vibe Checker Launch browser plugin for instant validation from any tab

Train on real startup success/failure data for deeper benchmarking

Add team matching based on idea types

Integrate one-click prototype deployment from the prompt page
