Sensors and Wiring
We were inspired to provide a better solution than what is available to improve circulation. Good circulation is essential to a better delivery of nutrients and oxygen to cells, and helps to remove toxins from the body.
What it does
We created a garment that allows the user improve circulation discretely and provide an app to further customize the pattern of treatment. The design of the pants applies vibrations according to acupuncture points.
How we built it
We used 22 vibration motors, arduino, c, sketch, photoshop and xcode.
Challenges we ran into
We underestimated the issues that would arise because of the number of inputs we wanted to control and the limitation of the arduino. We had to revise the initial design as we problem solved and ultimately had to reduce the number of vibration motors and reduce the level of individual control of each sensor.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We wired 22 vibration motors in a complicated circuit, designed an app, and a pant with concealed hardware components.
What we learned
We learned the value of working on an interdisciplinary team (architecture, fashion design, and computer science) and relying on and respecting one another's strengths.
