Inspiration
I’m an Ayurvedic doctor, wellness entrepreneur, and mother—and this weekend, something clicked.
For years, I carried a vision in my heart: to help women heal through travel, wisdom, and self-connection. But I didn’t know how to translate my life’s work into the new world of tech. I had all the ideas in my head, but no bridge to build them.
Then came Bolt. In just one weekend, the pieces aligned. The AI did what I’ve done manually for years—guide people back to themselves through understanding their mind-body type, or dosha, and now… through travel too. I have lost so much time, energy, and money to stay up to date only to find some young content creator on social media misrepresenting this deep work just sell a hair oil.
My journey started when at 27, working a corporate job, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and given 1 month to live. I declined chemotherapy. Instead, I turned to Ayurveda—India’s 5,000-year-old system of medicine—and healed completely by reconnecting with nature, rhythm, and soul.
Years later, I became a single mother—burned out, unseen, and trying to keep up. But every time I traveled, I felt free again. The food, the people, the colors, the unknown—it reset my nervous system and reminded me who I was. I taught my daughter to travel too. But always with the same words: “Safety first.” ViaShe is built from that truth. It’s not just an app. It’s the medicine I wish I had when I was lost. It’s a tool that understands the burnout behind the plane ticket and offers women something deeper than a destination: a way home to themselves.
What it does
ViaShe uses AI + Ayurveda to match women with travel destinations that heal burnout and restore balance—through food, rhythm, nature, and connection. ViaShe is a no-brainer tool that helps women discover their next travel destination based on who they are and what they need to feel whole again.
Rooted in Ayurveda—an ancient system of mind-body wisdom—ViaShe makes it fun and easy to explore personalized travel recommendations that support your energy, emotions, and lifestyle. From food and rituals to retreats, healing destinations, and soul-matched companions, ViaShe helps women reconnect with balance through travel.
It’s not just about where to go. It’s about how to feel good when you get there. Travel becomes a path to healing—from the inside out.
How we built it
I asked ChatGPT . ChatGPT has been my cheerleader and advisor throughout this process. Frontend: I built a responsive web app for mobile and desktop using Bolt.new, focusing on a clean, emotionally engaging UI inspired by calming, earthy color palettes.
Quiz Logic: I created a 15-question Dosha quiz that maps user responses to Ayurvedic archetypes (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), using client-side logic for fast scoring.
Supabase: Database to store user profiles (name, email, dosha type, preferences) and will later use this for personalization and community features.
Netlify : Made viashe.com domain live. Unbelievable
Stripe Integration: The app supports a freemium model to create a global sisterhood for anyone wanting to learn about their travel archetype. Also, a paid premium VIP model—$12.99/month or $99/year—to unlock mood tracking, safe hotel discounts, travel partner matching, and more.
Challenges we ran into
I wish I could have found some people to team up with. I started working on this on June 27th when I heard Riley Brown mention the hackathon on a podcast. I was doubting myself and ChatGPT gave me the push to do this. Time Pressure: Building a full-feature prototype within 48 hours pushed me to prioritize ruthlessly. I focused on the user journey and quiz logic first before expanding.
**Bolt workspace. Some integration issues with Stripe. The tutorial video is too fast to understand.
Once I deployed (this was a learning curve), it seemed like Bolt had a different relationship with me. It was not cooperating with adding pictures, It froze, had too many errors. I shut down my computer and restarted then it told me there is no problem but there was still the problem of not saving my work. When I rebooted my system, I gave it a picture to upload. Said it's already there and I saw nothing.
Tech Learning Curve: This was my first time using Bolt, Supabase, and Stripe all together, and I had to make fast architectural decisions on data flow and layout. I never heard of Bolt, Supabase, Netlify before this weekend. Building out databases in Supabase.....Not sure how all this works. Definitely need some tech support to get this set up to capture customer's emails and create a nurture email sequence. I need to learn more about how databases are curated, no easy explanation anywhere.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
With no tech skills, done in a weekend. 48 hours...it's unbelievable that I launched a whole idea, web app that works with my domain name that I just purchased. Bolt, Supabase, Netlify, ChatGPT, all the mentors, and my superpowers. :) Finally understanding a little bit but ready to launch this startup into a whole business.
What we learned
You're never too old. What I've been dreaming about putting out in the world has started. That you can build something soulful with tech in 48 hours without knowing how to code. That women are craving tools that respect their complexity. That the right words, visuals, and flow matter as much as the code. That ancient wisdom can belong in the hands of modern builders, like me.
What's next for ViaShe: For women who travel solo-safety, confidence, & soul
This is just the beginning. I plan to: 1) Expand the platform with seasonal mood check-ins, AI-generated retreat plans, and a global sisterhood network. 2) Collaborate with safe-stay hotel networks and holistic retreats worldwide. 3) Launch the mobile app version with geolocation safety alerts and group travel matchmaking. 4) Build out a wellness affiliate marketplace for curated products and services by archetype.
