Devpost is a great platform where people can not only put their skills to the test, but also develop solutions that can give back to the community. There are a few areas where the platform can enhance the overall user experience.

One improvement would be to display the start and end times of a hackathon according to the participant's timezone. This would make it easier for participants from different parts of the world to plan and manage their time effectively during the event.

Another area of improvement would be to host workshops that focus on developing key skills required for hackathons. This would help participants build the necessary skills and confidence needed to succeed in these events.

Lastly, having an approval system in place that notifies a participant if their project is too similar to another group's would be helpful. This would prevent any misunderstandings or conflicts between participants and ensure a fair and unbiased judging process.

Overall, Devpost is a great platform for hosting hackathons, and these improvements would further enhance the experience for all participants.

Inspiration

In a recent presentation in which Microsoft demonstrated ChatGPT's integration with Bing, they showed an example where it summarized the Fiscal report of a Company into key points. It served as an inspiration for me because in Hackathons with shorter duration, every extra minute that one can spend on creating the actual product increases their chances of success. Hence, a tool that can drastically shorten the time it takes for one to conduct research on feasibility, market viability and other important components of the ideation process, would be a valuable asset for hackathons.

What it does

The product would take in user input regarding the idea, and use the ChatGPT API to first identify its feasibility, then similar existing products, then a web scraper is used to fetch articles, business reports, etc. about the competitors and the API is again used to create a summary.
