Inspiration
My neighborhhood has a lot of potholes in Virginia Beach. However, I don't know who can take care of them to improve our conditions.
What it does
It's a port let citizens to report transportation problems they find. It also provides a management portal for VDOT managers to distribute resources in a efficient way.
How we built it
We use our professional web-development knowledge to build the platform.
Challenges we ran into
we spent our casual time to take photos in both Norfolk and Virginia Beach. We also met challenges when we distribute the project onto the cloud.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Faster geo-fencing function compared to ESRI products.
What we learned
We learned the formalized data can generate great values.
What's next for Vi-Care
If we have a chance to cooperate with VDOT to make this project alive, this project will help build our smart cities. If big dataset is available, that would be very helpful for industrial transportation planning and academic research.
