Inspiration

In status quo, many small and medium sized still use excel or pen and paper to record inventory. This often results in missing inventories and expired goods due to human error.

What it does

VEXEL is a one stop app for inventory management and resupplying. In the current build VEXEL will focus on the grocery industry. With a built in real time tracking software, VEXEL keeps track of the amount of items, expiration dates, and alerts the user whenever there is a need to restock. Furthermore, with multiple suppliers available, users are able to compare prices from different suppliers when buying inventories. Finally, with our 3D capacity view, owners are able to more efficiently use their vehicles by ensuring each trip is using the maximum capacity of the vehicle. Not only does this makes it more sustainable it also cuts down cost and time waste.

How we built it

This app was built in Figma.

Challenges we ran into

It was definitely a challenge to implement the 3D component, PO component and Dashboard. On top of that, everything needed to have a seamless flow to ensure user usability.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were very proud of our inventory, bar code scanner, and 3D capacity viewer.

What we learned

From this experience we have learnt that often logistics and supply issue not only stem from lack of technology but also mainly human errors and slow changing industries. We hope that by having a single app as a solution more small business owners are able to keep a tighter inventory, become more efficient and level up in this ever growing new world.

What's next for VEXEL

Next for VEXEL would be a website and having a B-to-C component were store owners are capable of selling goods directly to customer. This inspiration was taken from larger chain grocery stores like Woolies and Coles.
