Inspiration
I love animals so the theme was perfect.
What it does
If your pet is not feeling well, you can record observations of the pet and then you will have a record of them when you go to the veterinarian.
How we built it
Vet Notes was built with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Supabase.
Challenges we ran into
Supabase, a postgres alternative, caused me a lot of problems. I had never used Supabase before, and I found that I had overestimated my skills with Supabase. For example, I could not get the entered data to the database. More too learn!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I was proud that the reports page (database page) turned out well. I can see the potential with Supabase,
What we learned
I learned a great deal about setting up and then using a database with an application. Databases have a lot of power, and I am glad I got a chance to work on one.
What's next for Vet Notes
First, I should figure out what is wrong about the connections to Supabase and get it working fully. Then I could make some tweaks, and offer the app as something to local animal rescue groups.
