Vero Travel Agents

Inspiration

This project was inspired by the idea of making travel planning easier and more interactive through an AI-powered system. Instead of manually searching for travel packages, users can get personalized recommendations and complete trip details in one place, including itinerary, pricing, and payment options.

What it does

Vero Travel Agents helps users discover and book travel packages through an AI-assisted interface. Users can explore recommended trips, view detailed itineraries, and make payments using integrated methods such as QRIS or virtual accounts. Each selected package provides complete information to help users make quick and informed decisions.

How we built it

We built the system using a combination of a frontend dashboard and backend services. The frontend displays travel packages in a card-based UI, while the backend handles AI recommendations, package data, and payment flow integration. We also structured the system to support future scaling with APIs and modular services.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was designing a smooth flow between AI recommendations, package selection, and payment processing. Ensuring that data remains consistent across the system while keeping the user experience simple required several iterations. Integrating external payment systems also needed careful handling of callbacks and validation.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully created a working prototype where users can interact with AI recommendations and proceed directly to payment. The system is able to present structured travel packages with clear itineraries, making the booking experience more intuitive and efficient.

What we learned

We learned how important system design is when combining AI with real-world services like payments and booking systems. We also gained experience in handling API integration, data flow management, and building user-friendly interfaces that simplify complex processes.

What's next for Vero Travel Agents

Next, we plan to improve the AI recommendation engine to make it more personalized based on user preferences and history. We also aim to add more travel partners, enhance the UI/UX, and expand payment options while improving system scalability and performance.
